Camden Riversharks CAMDEN 8 10 1
Bridgeport Bluefish BRIDGEPORT 4 8 0
CAMDEN, NJ – The accolades keep coming for Brian Burgamy. The 2012 All-Star launched his fifteenth home run of the season Wednesday, a high towering opposite field home run. It was Burgamy’s 58 career home run, tying Brad Strauss for second all-time in Riversharks career home runs

For Camden, it was their seventh home run as a team in August, and the drop off has been a key to the recent struggles (they hit 32 homers in July, going 15-11 in the month). The home run was crucial in Camden’s 8-4win over the Bridgeport Bluefish Wednesday afternoon at Campbell’s Field, salvaging the finale in the three-game set.

The Riversharks (14-18, 48-53) put up a three-spot in the first inning. After the first two hitters were retired, Burgamy, Pedro Feliz and Raul Padron hit three straight doubles. Eduardo Perez added an RBI single to round out the inning. Camden scored all eight runs with two outs.

The Bluefish (17-14, 48-53) answered right back with three in the second. A Brad Boyer two-run homer capped off the inning. That was all the damage done against Mike McGuire (6-8) through seven innings. He finished allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits while walking one and striking out four.

Danny Santiesteban singled home Jake Eigsti in the fourth to regain the lead for Camden. Burgamy’s home run in the seventh made it 7-3 and the teams traded runs in the eighth.

Leo Rosales came on in the ninth and, after allowing two singles, was able to end the ball game and snap Camden’s three-game losing streak. The Sharks head to York, Pennsylvania for two games starting Thursday.

The Revolution come back with the Sharks for two in Camden over the weekend, starting at 7:05. It’s the start of a nine-game home stand at Campbell’s Field. For ticket information, call 1-866-SHARKS-9, visit Riversharks.com or stop by the TD Bank Convenience Window at Campbell’s Field.
