SHARKS COME FROM BEHIND FOR WIN, BEAT YORK 7-5
POSTED: 6/5/2008 by Nick Steyn

CAMDEN, NJ- The Camden Riversharks played comeback baseball Thursday night against the York Revolution and won, 7-5. It took two three-run innings to overcome an early four-run lead set by the Revs.

Camden starter Ryan Drese was hit for five runs, four earned, over 5.2 innings. York headed into the fourth with a two-run lead. Center fielder Matt Esquivel jolted a two-run homer to left to double the lead.

But the Riversharks came back in the bottom of the inning. Catcher Jason Phillips knocked an RBI double to center, designated hitter Ron Davenport singled in Phillips and second baseman Rob Gandolfo doubled in Davenport to make the score 4-3.

York took a run back in the fifth, but the Riversharks rallied again in the sixth. Davenport homered to right. A hit, a walk, a balk and a pitching change later, third baseman Richard Lewis had an two-run single. The lead changed hands, 6-4.

The Sharks scored one more in the eighth to seal the deal.

The Sharks and Revs play game two tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. There will be fireworks! Tickets are on sale now at www.riversharks.com or by calling 1-866-SHARKS-9.
