9/21Game Recap: Riversharks vs. Ducks

The Riversharks defeated the Long Island Ducks 5-3 in game one of the last series of the 2012 season at Campbell’s Field.
Mike McGuire earned the win allowing two runs on six hits and walking three in six innings.
John Brownell suffered the loss surrendering five runs, eight hits, six walks and eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
The Ducks started the game with a leadoff single from Kraig Binick. Brandon Sing hit a double to score Binick and Bryant Nelson followed with a single scoring Sing to give Long Island an early 2-0 lead.
After Jake Eigsti reached third off Delwyn Young’s single in the second, Lloyd Turner advanced to first on a fielder’s choice which scored Eigsti. Padron’s RBI single in third tied the game at two.
In the bottom of the fifth, Padron hit a double to score Brian Burgamy and Reid Gorecki hit an RBI double in the sixth to advance the ‘Sharks lead 5-2.
The Ducks managed to score one more run in the seventh but the Riversharks took the win.
Padron went 1-for-5 with one run, one double and two RBIs.
The Riversharks will play game two of the final series of the 2012 regular season against the Long Island Ducks tomorrow at 5:35 p.m. It’s Fan Appreciation Weekend.
